Background
At the IPBES Plenary-12 in Manchester, the global methodological assessment of the impact of businesses on biodiversity will be discussed and the report released – this is the first ever global assessment of the impact and dependencies of businesses on biodiversity.
As a landmark assessment, it will help shape future international and national policies that affect how governments and businesses alike may need to transition and align with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF).
It is critically important that this IPBES assessment is used to build upon the continued momentum in driving businesses, governments and civil society to be taking action, to be working collectively to halt the decline in biodiversity and align with the goals and targets of the KMGBF.
During IPBES-12, the Business & Finance Day on Wednesday 4th February will bring together leading authorities from businesses, government and civil society to discuss the opportunities and actions needed to deliver tangible, economic and nature positive outcomes and innovation.
